Welcome to the Gilroy High family, Class of 2028! We are excited to have you join the Mustang family that has been an integral part of Gilroy for over 100 years. Course Information
What classes do you take your freshmen year?
Gilroy High students should plan to takesixclasses in a regular school year. A typical freshman schedule is structured with four required subjects and twoelectives.** If a studentchooses to enroll ina zero-period course, they will have seven classes.

Middle School Registration Days
You'llmeet with your high school Academic Coordinator (AC) in the spring of your eighth-grade year to sign up for your freshman classes. Seethe freshman course catalog here.
Gilroy HighAcademic Coordinators will be visiting schools on these dates:
- February 6, 2024: South Valley Middle School
- February 7, 2024: Brownell Middle School & Gilroy Prep School
- February 8, 2024: Solorsano Middle School
If you're aiming for a specialized program at Gilroy High— Envision Academy,the Ag Program/FFA, Dual Immersion or the Biomedical Science Academy — this is the time to ask about deadlines and applications.Attendance is critical, as your academic coordinator will walk you through the process of selecting courses on your Aeries Academic Plan.
All incoming freshmen will complete and submit the Student Course Request Form(see links below) with a parent or guardian as part of the registration process.The information will be utilized to review course preferences. Complete this form before our scheduled date to visit your middle school for registration.
Students in honors courses
Students who choose to enroll in an honors course will be required to submit the AP/honors contract:
- If your parents/guardianshave access to ParentSquare, access to the contract viayour ParentSquare account.
- If you do not have access to ParentSquare, download and complete this form. Email the completed form to Alba Murillo atalba.murillo@gilroyunified.org.

Transferring to Gilroy High
If you want to join the Mustang Community on a transfer, you have to take some steps to make sure your registration is appropriately processed. Visit the District Office's enrollment page for information on how to register and online registration.Enroll in GUSD.
Students who live in Gilroy and would like to transfer to another GUSD school that is not their assigned school of attendance will need to submit an intradistrict transfer.Learn more about intradistrict transfers.
Students who live outside of the GUSD boundaries and would to attend Gilroy High will need to submit an interdistrict transfer to their district of residence. Learn more about interdistrict transfers.
